Carlos Robert Plumley, 87, passed away on July 15, 2012 at Caroline Nursing Home in Denton, MD. He was born on December 16, 1924 to the late Lonnie Andrew and Lottie Mae Plumley in Kilsyth, West Virginia. He moved to Laurel, MD in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946. He worked as a mechanic for Eightball Racecar in the 60's and later as a truck mechanic at Academy Ford for 32 years. His hobbies included hunting and working on cars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Alice Virginia Plumley in 2005; brothers Russell and Clarence Plumley and sisters Lorraine Williams and Lulu Cochran. Carlos is survived by his children Linda S. Booth, Carl R. Plumley, Peggy L. Hall, Edna M. Hall, Gary W. Plumley, Sr., Duane E. Plumley, and Andy C. Plumley; sisters Meinta Persinger, May Bush, Emma L. Cooper and Hattie Williams; and brother Emmett Plumley. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
