Carlyle "Bing" Owens Byington

Carlyle “Bing” Owens Byington, 77, was born on 1 September 1941 to Floyd Wood Byington and Gwendola Owens in Jerome, Idaho. He grew up in Idaho, and Utah.  He was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He had a deep love for our Savior, and he was a scriptorian as he feasted on the words of the Lord daily.  He served a mission for his church for two years at the age of 19 in Germany. He loved it there and decided that he wanted to see the world and so he joined the USAF in 1964. He served during the Vietnam War, but he would always say all he did was fly a desk. Places he was stationed included Germany, Thailand, England and various places in the US.  Bing met his wife while stationed in Germany through a mutual friend. They were married on 6 April 1974 in the London LDS Temple.  He came back to the US with a wife, Joan (Rose), and three children, Lisa Byington, Rachael Byington (Nuzzaco) and Dale Byington. He retired from the Air Force in October 1984 and moved to Laurel, Maryland where he lived out the rest of days. He was a grandfather, something he took great delight in. He enjoyed leather work and made many creations for his family and friends to enjoy. He loved doing the crossword puzzle in the Washington Post everyday and he loved a good pun or corny joke. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Wood Byington and Gwendola Owens, his older sister, Leonine Byington, younger sister Aloma Byington (Blaylock), grandson, Joseph Carlyle Nuzzaco, granddaughter, Kathryne Amy Nuzzaco. He is survived by his wife Joan, His daughters, Lisa Byington, Rachael Byington (Nuzzaco), son-in-law, Thomas Nuzzaco, son, Dale Byington, grandsons Christopher Arballo, Jr, Adam Arballo, Stephen Nuzzaco, Samuel Nuzzaco, sister, Darla Byington, brothers Arvin Byington and Floyd Byington. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on 12 February 2018 and he was at peace with his life and ready to meet his God. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 with funeral following at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 7200 Contee Rd, Laurel MD 20707
