Catalina - Rodriguez

Catalina Rodriguez, age 95, passed away in Silver Spring, MD on Sunday, January 23, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on Thursday, November 25, 1926 in Pasaquina La Union, El Salvador, daughter of Nicholas Rodriguez and Eulalia Vaquiz. She was the 8th child of 10 children.

For most of her life she lived with her husband, Simon Martinez (deceased 1981) in El Salvador. He was the love of her life and never remarried after his death. She moved to the United States in January of 1997, to be closer to her family.

As a mother she was generous, loving and kind. She loved being a mother, and a grandmother to all of her grandkids and great grandkids; she helped raise most of them.  She was a woman of faith and loved to attend Sunday Mass, read the Bible, and sing church hymns. She loved spending time with family, but especially during the holidays, to teach her kids and grandchildren to cook holiday meals. She had a bright smile and made everyone around her feel loved, even if she had just met you.

She will be greatly missed by her family, as she was the anchor that brought everyone together.

Catalina is survived by her 10 children and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great children, and great-great-great children.
