Catherine Anne (Mcgee) Hiett

Catherine Anne Hiett, 72 of Severn, MD passed away May 5th, 2025.  Cathy was born June 22, 1952 to Patrick and Elsie McGee in Laurel, MD.

Cathy was a member of St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church, Hanover, MD and had attended St. Joseph’s, Odenton Md. for over 20 years.

Cathy had a number of jobs, from floral design to office administration, but found her most joy in working for the ARC of Howard County.

Cathy is survived by her husband of 53 years, Charles Les Hiett, her three siblings Michael McGee (Becky McGee), Timothy McGee, and Valerie Spoonhour (John Spoonhour); her three children William Hiett (Tina Alt-Hiett), Elizabeth Meadows (Shad Meadows), Victoria Galster (Ryan Galster). Cathy’s greatest joys were her seven grandchildren Johnathan Hiett, Shawn Hiett, Ayden Meadows, Bella Meadows, Jackson Hiett, Koralyn Galster, and Camden Galster.

Cathy was preceded in death by her sister Patricia.

With her husband, Cathy traveled the world, living in Montana, Belgium, England, and Maryland.  Everywhere they traveled, she made lifelong friends that she cared for deeply. Loving wholeheartedly was Cathy’s super skill.  She loved her family and friends, she loved her books and life experiences. She loved her relationship with God.

When Mom loved you, there was no doubt, you felt it in your core.  She will be missed.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., located at 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD.

A Public Viewing will take place from 12:00pm to 1:00pm., followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00pm. There will be no burial ceremony. A reception will follow the funeral service at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1381 Becknel Avenue, Odenton, MD 21113.
