Catherine Blanche Werner

Catherine Blanche Werner "Kitty", age 78, passed away at her Laurel, MD home on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.

Born on May 1, 1943 in Greenock, Scotland to her late parents: William and Agnes Blanche. She emigrated as a child from Scotland post World War II.

Kitty graduated from Northwood High School in 1961. She was a homemaker until she went to work for the Government for the USDA Agricultural Research Service until she retired in 2008.

She was married to the late John Lawrence Werner for 38 years.

Kitty loved to travel with her family and the many good friends she made over the years. Her motto was "take the trip, buy the shoes, eat the cake!" She was a joy to all who knew and loved her.

Kitty is survived by her three children: Heather Widener (Scott), Lauren Lohmeier (Chris) and Emily Duncan (Rick); three grandchildren: Ben Widener, Graeme Widener and Gavin Widener; sister, Wilma Blanche Bissett and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Kitty is preceded in death by her brother, Tom Blanche.

A memorial gathering will be held at Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 11AM to 3PM.
