Charles Russel Giddings, Jr.

Charles R. Giddings, Jr., Master Plumber, 59 years of age, passed away on Monday, October 05, 2015 at his home due to complications from diabetes.  Born and raised in Laurel, MD, and a longtime resident of the city, Charles was a fun loving, hard-working man who enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing at the family cabin near Knox, PA. He also enjoyed playing drums, listening to music, and watching western movies, especially those starring John Wayne. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids, who affectionately referred to him as “Bump.”

Charles co-owned C.R. Giddings & Son Plumbing & Heating, Inc. with his father Charlie (Bubby).  They opened the company in 1983 and Charles became a master plumber in 1984.  Both father and son operated the company and serviced not only residents of Laurel, but customers throughout Maryland, DC and Virginia.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Teresa (O’Dell) Giddings, and four daughters: Shelly Giddings-Laing (Robert Jr.), Deanna Sargent (Chris), Ashley Marvel (Kevin) and Cathleen Giddings-Pfister (Eric).  In addition, Charles leaves his father, Charles R. Giddings, Sr., brother Jerry Giddings, sister Regina Giddings and grandchildren Presley, Brandon, Dakota, Nicholas, Allie and Lennon.  Charles also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and was preceded in death by his mom, Audrey (Dolan) Giddings.
