On December 20, 2012, Charles Volpe of Bel Air, Maryland died at the Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, he was 63. Charlie was the beloved husband of Jane Volpe (nee Rumsey); loving son of Shirley Volpe the late Arthur Volpe; devoted father of Kathleen Marie Volpe of Los Angeles, California, Christine Nicole Volpe-Fischer and her husband Matthew C. Fischer of San Diego, California and Aubrey Michelle Volpe-Tester and her husband Justin D. Tester of Baltimore, Maryland; dear grandfather of Magdalene Grace Fischer, Matthew Christopher Fischer, Jr. and Ruby Jane Tester. Also survived by his four brothers, Arthur J. Volpe of Coral Springs, Florida, Michael J. Volpe of Forest Hill, Maryland, Thomas G. Volpe of Baltimore, Maryland and Frank W. Volpe of Bel Air, Maryland.
Mr. Volpe was a former graduate of Calvert Hall High School and Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. After graduating college, Mr. Volpe would endeavor to own many businesses including the Honeygo Reclamation Center in Baltimore County and his most recent endeavor as the owner of a Worm Farm. He was an avid car guy who loved the art of the automobile. He owned two Lamborghinis and an open wheel race car that he would race himself. He was a long time member of the Lamborghini Club America and was a founding member of the Mid-Atlantic Lambos Club, the regional chapter supporting the efforts of the Lamborghini Club America. He was an admired musician and friend to many.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ignatius Church- Hickory, 533 East Jarrettsville Road, Forest Hill, Maryland 21050 on Thursday , December 27, 2012 at 1 PM. Interment Bel Air Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 26, 2012 from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at the Evans Funeral Chapel, 3 Newport Drive, Forest Hill, Maryland 21050.
