On May 22, 2026, Cheryl J. Maliszewski, 77, passed away in Ronks, Pennsylvania. Cheryl was born in Washington, DC, on May 7, 1949, and resided in Laurel, MD.
After becoming a Registered Nurse in 1993, Cheryl eventually retired and enjoyed her remaining days with family and friends. She worshiped at Triadelphia Seventh Day Adventist, was well traveled, a seasoned Master Barber, self-taught accomplished seamstress (prize piece quilts), and a dedicated gardener. She wore many hats, but her most favorite of all was "Mama, Mom, Gram, Gi, and friend". She cherished her friendships with many, but her dearest of all was her "Sissy", Linda Caulkins. Cheryl touched the lives of many through her compassion, work, dedication and love; she gave her all to everyone in her life. If ever she was to be characterized by a flaw, it would be pride. Pride for her children and the amazing people they've become, pride for her grandchildren for finding their place in the world, and pride for her great grandchildren for all she knew they would become.
She is survived by her children, Stephen T. Aaron, Elizabeth J. Melton, Stephen M. Scardina; and grandchildren, Elizabeth, Vivian, Jess, Emilee, Sean and Lacie; great grandchildren, Faith, Liam, Noah, Griffin, and Nova; brother Michael S. Hildreth, and many nieces and nephews.
She was the cherished daughter of the late Mary E. Lindamood; Joseph G. Lindamood, Jr., who raised her as his own; and Kenneth H. Hildreth, III, her biological father. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert F. Maliszewski, brother Kenneth Hildreth, and her precious great-granddaughter, Magnolia J. DeDeo.
