Christine Laverne Young

Christine Laverne Young, 87, of Laurel passed away March 24, 2014 at Somerford Assisted Living in Frederick, MD. She was born on December 3, 1926 to the late Roy and Myrtle Brown in Shawnee, OK. She was an avid bowler, active at First Baptist Church of Laurel in the Choir, nursery and as a SCS teacher, and babysitting for ESL Class. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter Valerie (Ricardo) Miguele and sister Dorothy Price. She is survived by her loving children Lynda Vogts (David), Karen Olink, Vickie Troester (Richard), and Teresa Simpkins; sisters Catherine Skeene, Evelyn Hudson, and her brother Robert Brown. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707 where funeral services will be held on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 10 am. Interment will follow at Meadowridge Memorial Park.
