Cynthia Ann Breitenlohner

Cynthia Ann (Cindy) Breitenlohner passed away on June 13, 2024.

Cindy was born Cynthia Ann Davis on November 26, 1947, to parents Velmar Davis and Laverne Davis (nee Craig) in Lafayette, Indiana.  She grew up in Urbana, Illinois, and finished High School in Annandale, Virginia, where she met her future husband.  After earning a degree in Economics from the University of Maryland in 1969 she worked as a researcher for USDA.  She married Hans Breitenlohner in 1969.  Since 1973 she has lived in Laurel.  In 2003 she earned a Masters degree in Education Administration from the University of Maryland.

Cindy loved outdoor activities.  She was a figure skater and skier.  Later in life she enjoyed hiking and kayaking.  She loved being close to nature and observing wildlife.  Cindy was a creative cook who loved to prepare holiday meals for family and friends.  Her baked goods always added a special touch to these occasions.  She also loved gardening, where her efforts were rewarded with rich bounties of flowers, fruits, and vegetables every year.

Cindy is survived by husband Hans Breitenlohner, son Curtis Breitenlohner, brother and sister-in-law Clark and Ann Davis, and nephews Joshua Davis and Paul Davis and family.
