Dahlia Irene Vogler

December 6, 1956 — November 6, 2024

Odenton

Dahlia Irene Vogler, 67, of Odenton, Maryland went to claim her heavenly reward in Bethesda, Maryland on November 6th, 2024. Dahlia was born in Mexico D.F. to Azucena Carranza and Efrain Cardenas. At the age of 18 she moved to the United States.

Dahlia fell in love with and married her husband, Kim in June 1981. From then on Dahlia followed Kim in his military career. They spent the first four years of their marriage in Okinawa, Japan before moving to Fort Meade, Maryland in 1985. Dahlia started attending the Laurel Apostolic Church when she arrived in Maryland where she taught Sunday school and worked in Ladies Ministries. Through the years she has worked in many different departments of the church rarely holding an official title, but always working to advance the Kingdom of God. In 2005 the church relocated to Beltsville, Maryland and changed its name to Cross Creek Apostolic Church. Most recently she served as the Hospitality Ministry Director. She was involved in staying in contact with both first and second time guests and longtime church members.

Dahlia’s favorite things to do were to be with her hubby, children and grandchildren. She loved to vacation but it always had to be by the water. Dahlia was a loving mother and grandmother. She was kind, generous and always would go out of her way to help those in need. Heartfelt conversation over coffee and warm, engulfing hugs were gifts that she gave frequently and freely. She was very proud of her Mexican hertiage and culture.

Dahlia is survived by her husband of 43 years, Kim, children: Susie Morris (Melvin Morris) & JeffAlex Vogler (Katie Vogler). Grandchildren: Breanna Medrano, Savaughn Fountain, Joshua Morris, Alejandro Morris, Aubree Vogler, Melvin Morris Jr., Isaac Vogler, Micah Vogler & Leo Vogler. Great-grandchild: Blakley. Siblings: Carmen, Linda, David, George, Belinda, Luis, Kristina, Sheila, Sammy & Karen. She was preceded in death by her father, mother & siblings: Sara, Alex & Marcos.
