Daniel Austin Carter

Daniel Carter of Lothian, MD passed away on Friday. May 29, 2020 at the age of 29.  Daniel is preceded in death by his grandmother Peggy Buracker, his pop pop Marvin Bennett, his adopted dad Melvin Shepherd, his Uncle Danny Catron, his Aunt Vickie (Chuck) Mehrtens, his cousins Theresa and Christopher.

Daniel is survived by his mother Nancy Carter; his son Austin Carter (mom Megan Gorman); his mamaw Reva Bennett, his sisters Christina (Jeff) Holtzclaw and  Deanna Dodd; his brothers Ronald (Renee) Willis and Tony Zabala; his half sister Dixie Carter; many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Danny is also survived  by his estranged father Lawrence Carter.

Danny loved spending time with his son Austin. He loved taking Austin four wheeling and teaching him how to play all sports, especially hockey.  Danny always called Austin his "My Man 50 Grand." Danny started at a young age playing roller hockey and then switched over to ice hockey. His favorite team was The Capitals. Ovechkin was his favorite player.  He loved going to Florida and West Virginia every summer. He also loved  going to the beach and swimming in the ocean.

Daniel always had a smile on his face and had a heart of gold.  Danny's passing will leave a void in our hearts and he will be sorely missed by family and many friends. We love you Danny.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we are unable to schedule a celebration of life at this time.  We will be doing this at a later date and will post details on Facebook as soon as they are developed.
