Deborah Lynn (Gales) Bailey, affectionately referred to as Mimi and G-ma, passed away peacefully on July 20th, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones. Deb is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Michael, her two adult children, Misty and Stephanie, along with her five grandchildren, her most treasured gifts: Tyler (28), Gabby (16), Reid (14), Brodie (11), and Savannah (8). Family was the most important thing to Deb and she loved hers like no other. She is also survived by her mother, Betty Gales and brother, Ralph Gales Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph Gales Sr. and Louise Eckard.
Deb was born December 13th, 1949 in Washington, DC. She moved to Laurel, MD at a young age and was a lifetime resident. She grew up riding horses, it was one of her biggest passions. At 5'2", Deb was a tiny thing, but what she lacked in size she made up in heart and spirit. During her riding years, she was jumping 6 ft fences on a horse twice her height. She was always strong and fearless, right up to her last days. Besides horses, Deb loved the color pink, anything heart-shaped, the beach with the grandkids, a good book, her roses, the Steelers, Donald Trump, and Uthred, but most of all she loved her family.
She is gone too soon and will always be fondly remembered and loved.
A memorial service will be held at 6 PM on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Donaldson's Funeral Home at 313 Talbott Ave. Laurel, MD 20707. All friends and family are welcome to join.
