Deborah “Debbie” Kuckuda, 76, of Laurel, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on June 4, 1949, Debbie was the beloved daughter of Herbert Noal and Edith Catherine Holt (Sowder). She was raised in New Carrollton, Maryland, where she formed lifelong friendships and cherished memories.
Debbie built a career as an advisor at University of Maryland, where she was known for her strong work ethic, dedication, and the positive impact she made on colleagues and students she served. She took pride in her work and approached every responsibility with integrity and care.
Beyond her professional life, Debbie found joy in the simple pleasures of life—time spent with family, laughter shared with friends, and creating warm and welcoming gatherings. She will always be remembered for her kindness, humor, generosity, and unwavering strength. Her compassionate spirit and steady presence were a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.
Debbie is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas; her son, Matthew (Sherri), and their cherished children, Tyler, Sydney, Sawyer, Tenley, and Pierce; and her loving daughter, Laura. She is also survived by her brothers, David Noal Holt (Patricia) and Richard Wayne Holt (Margaret), along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her greatly.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Laurel, Maryland, followed by funeral services at 12:00 p.m. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather for a repass following the service at Olive On Main, 504 Main Street, Laurel, MD 20707.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to your favorite charity in Debbie’s name.
Debbie’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love, resilience, and devotion to family will never be forgotten.
