Dorothy R. Barr

Dorothy R. Barr, 99, of Laurel, MD passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Laurel Regional Hospital. She was born on November 20, 1913 in Washington, D.C. to the late William Roy and Rose Luvenia Baker. Formerly of Beltsville, she has been a Laurel resident for 53 years. She was a member of St. Mary of the Mills Catholic Church and an active member of the Laurel Regional Hospital Auxiliary. She loved to shop, sew, bake, and enjoyed crafts. She and her husband owned and operated G.G. Barr Construction Company for many years in the Laurel and Beltsville area.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Geith G. Barr. She is survived by her daughter Sandra L. Martin and her husband John; grandchildren Christopher Martin, Holly (Martin) Garver and her husband Philip, and Jeffrey Scott Martin; great-grandchildren Rayna, Haylee, Chase, and Cameron, and longterm caregiver and friend Rosina Williams.
