Dottie Westrom

Dorothy “Dottie” Westrom (née Wagner) passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 2, 2021.

Dottie was born in Baltimore, MD to Robert and Agnes (Lurz) Wagner. She lived in Columbia, Maryland and worked at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church until retiring in 2019. Dottie not only worked at the church for many years but she served on the board of Winterhaven, volunteered at the Elizabeth House, and she chaired the fellowship ministry. Dottie and her daughter, Erika, also operated a partnership called Tea At The Beach Club. She enjoyed serving and feeding others.

She is survived by her husband Lyle “Wes” Westrom, her daughter Erika Westrom, her sister-in-law Lynn Caper and the families of her niece and two nephews; Lea and Eddie Tiche, Bobby and Sally Carper, and Brian and Robin Carper. She is also survived by the families of her four step children; Deyonne and Bill Eckles, Mark and Jan Westrom, Sandi and Robert Magner, and Paul and Leigh Westrom. Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, her step mother Catherine Wagner and her brother Larry Caper.

A visitation is scheduled at the Donaldson Funeral Home, 313 Talbot Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707, on July 16, 2021 between 3 pm and 7 pm. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 10 am at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 7001 Old Sandy Spring Road, Laurel, MD 20707. Burial will be at Meadowridge Memorial Park following the funeral. Burial will be followed by a reception back at the church. Dottie loved bright colors and especially the color blue. The family encourages you to join us in similar dress as we celebrate her life.
