Douglas L. Francisco

Died on December 15, 2013 at Sunrise of Columbia Assisted Living Residence with family at his side. Beloved husband of 49 years to Betsy Phelps Francisco, he is also survived by three sons: Paul (Monica), Carl (Beth), and Jeffrey, three grandchildren: Emily, Julia, and Kyle, as well as a brother, David.

Doug's career in Washington included service to two Members of Congress, followed by work as a lobbyist on behalf of the Independent Petroleum Association of America. He later served as a senior advisor in the Department of Energy's Office of Oil and Natural Gas.

A memorial service will be held on January 12, 2014, 2 pm, at Hope Presbyterian Church, 1100 Enterprise Road, Mitchellville, MD 20721. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to Hope Church's Building Fund or The Alzheimer's Association.
