Earl Kenneth "Kenny" Lammers, 81, passed away at home May 26, 2026. Born June 11, 1944 at home in Laurel to Frank and Elizabeth (Hanus) Lammers.
He attended St. Mary's Elementary, 8 grade at Vincent Pallotti and graduated from Bladensburg High School in 1962. While at Bladensburg he learned welding and it became what he was best known for. He was jack of all trades, master of many, always enjoyed helping people and spending time in his garage working on his '57 Chevy car and '69 Chevy truck.
He went to work at Suburban Iron Works in Beltsville for 19 years welding very simple to very elaborate railings and gates.
When the company closed he went to the University of Maryland and worked as an HVAC technician until he retired in 2012.
He attended church regularly at St. Nicholas Catholic Church or more recently Ascension Catholic Church in Bowie, MD.
He was drafted and went in the US Army July 1965, stationed in Korea and worked as Quartermaster Supply Specialist. He was honorably discharged in May 1967.
After returning from Korea he met his future wife Barbara who he lovingly nicknamed "Grumpy". They got married on June 30, 1984 and built their home next door to his mother.
Kenny is survived by his wife Barbara, brothers Bernard (Marylu), David (Gale), Robert, nieces and nephews, and his dog Happy. Kenny was predeceased by his parents Frank and Elizabeth Lammers and grandparents.
