Edward Benedict Simms, Jr.

On Sunday, September 17, 2017 of Laurel, MD.  Beloved husband of 56 years to Olivia J. Simms; loving father to James A. Simms, Elaine B. Simms Kaneshiro, S. M. Alexandra Simms, Andrew B. Simms, and the late John E. Simms; grandfather to Krystle, Keilee, Tani, Noah, Lexiana, and Irie.  Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:30-10:30am at the DONALDSON FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD.  A Memorial Mass will follow at 11 am at St. Mary of the Mills Catholic Church, 114 St. Mary's Place, Laurel, MD 20707.  He had a passion for photography and military service to his country.  He was honored by the 3rd US Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard)  with a yearbook dedication to him and his late son.   Inurnment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.  Memorial donations may be made to Children's Hospital online at www.childrenshospital.org or Alzheimer's and Dementia Association online at www.alz.org.
