Elaine P. Cooper

Elaine P. Cooper, 88 of Laurel, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2017 at her home.
She was born in 1929 to Harry and Ruth (Munson) Poppe in Bronx, New York.
Elaine was a member of the Community United Methodist Church in Maryland City. She was a librarian at the Goddard Space Flight Center before moving on to become the librarian/Media Specialist at Maryland City and then to Meade Heights Elementary School.
She enjoyed reading, photography, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by a son; David A. Cooper, Laurel; a sister; Judy P. Fisher (John), MD; nieces and nephews, Richard Poppe Jr., MD; Melissa Degan (John), MD; Donna Jones (Keith), MD; Kristina Jones, MD; Adam Jones, MD; Robert Skelton (Bernadette Englert), MD, Steven Skelton and Ellen Skelton, MD.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William I. Cooper, a son William C. Cooper and a brother Richard Poppe.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 3-7 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home P.A., 313 Talbott Ave, Laurel, MD 20707.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 10:00AM at the Donaldson Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge, MD.
