Eleanor Jane Poe

Eleanor Jane Poe, 84, passed away on August 9, 2014 at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home in Oakland, MD. She was born on October 15, 1929 to the late Lloyd and Ruth Miles in Scaggsville, MD. She was a resident of the Laurel/Scaggsville area until 1994 before moving to Elkridge and later to Oakland in 2011. She graduated from Clarksville School and retired as an administrative assistant for Johns Hopkins APL in June of 1986. Eleanor was a member of Gary United Methodist Church in Ellicott City. She enjoyed cross stitching, crochet, reading, listening to music, camping, boating, playing cards, cooking, and spending time with family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Herman "Dorney" Poe in 1992; brother Russell Miles and sister Mildred Sweeney. She is survived by her loving daughter Terry Poe Norcutt; devoted grandchildren Kristin Hollis and her husband Ian, and Amanda Norcutt; great-grandson Colton Hollis; and siblings Mary Lupton, Donald Miles, Barbara Ann Kramer, and Robert Miles.
