Ellis Cleveland Hall, Jr., a longtime resident of Laurel, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Howard County General Hospital surrounded by his family.  He was 94.  He was born on March 11, 1922 to the late Ellis, Sr.  and Minnie Hall in Orange, VA.  He was an avid duck pin bowler, enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, fishing, hunting, horses and ponies, and spending winters in Kissimmee , FL.  He also belonged to the Good Sam Club and traveled in his RV across the country visiting all but 7 states.  His biggest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Ellis was also known for having the best cole slaw, potato salad, and deviled eggs during family gatherings.  He worked for Kidwell and Kidwell for over 40 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 75 years Mildred C. Hall; loving children Jerry Hall and his wife Kay, Sharon Mitchell and her husband Steward, and Marlene Collins and her husband Jimmy;  cherished by 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren; sister Elsie Kraus; sister-in-law   Audrey Hall; and many nieces and nephews.
