Elmer Luber, a resident of Ellicott City, passed away on Sunday, October 6,2013 at the Howard County General Hospital in Columbia, MD at the age of 93. Elmer was born on July 27, 1920 in Savage, MD and was the son of the late Vivian Luber and Rita Beall. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Luber, his daughter Helen Piff, his son-in-law Joseph Piff and two grandchildren, Max and Jennifer Piff.
He grew up and lived in Savage, MD until October 2011. He served in World War II (1944- 1946), retired from the David Taylor Model Basin in December 1978 and was an active member of the Savage Volunteer Fire Department most of his life.
The family will receive friends at the Donaldson Funeral Home, 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, Md. 20707, on Friday, October 11,2013 from 7-9 PM. Burial services will be held on Saturday, October 12,2013 at 3 PM at the Savage Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Savage Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 905, Savage, MD 20763.
