Eloise I. Park, daughter of Carroll and Rossie Link Iglehart was born March 10, 1925. Was baptized at age 12 by Rev. Letterer, pastor of Liberty Grove United Methodist Church.  She sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and was a member of the Young Adults. She is predeceased by her parents, two brothers, Norman and John Iglehart and a niece, Sheila Anderson.  Eloise is survived by nieces, Julia Dunn, Carol Shelton, Kathy McCreless (Ken), Susan Diaz, Louise Ryman and Eleanor Miles and a nephew, Thomas Iglehart (Caroline), as well as four great nieces and a great nephew.

She graduated from Montgomery Blair High School in 1943. Was employed by the US Department of Agriculture, working in accounting for 13 years.  In 1955, married Enver C. Park, the love of her life, who always called her Ellie.  They moved to Maine and later spent 20 years in Hillsdale, New Jersey.  While in New Jersey, Eloise worked for the Board of Education and was also the Chairman of the American Heart Association for 10 years. Living only 2 blocks from Hillsdale United Methodist Church, she sang in the choir as a mezzo soprano soloist, directed the youth choir, taught Sunday School, belonged to the Adult Fellowship, worked with the youth and participated in many other activities at the church.  The church has always been the center of Eloise and Enver’s lives.

After her husband, Enver, retired, they moved back to Maryland in 1979 and have resided in their home in Columbia, MD, to the present.  Eloise resumed her activities at Liberty Grove United Methodist Church.  She had a lovely display case built by Jack Swearman, in memory of her and Enver’s parents, to display historical items of the church.  Eloise later donated two alter vases to Liberty Grove UMC, in memory of Enver who passed away in 2016.

Eloise and Enver traveled on tours with Christian Fellowship International to many countries.  Loving music, Eloise and Enver learned square dancing and enjoyed it for many years. Eloise loved doing counted cross stitch and other types of needle work, displaying them around her home, gifting many to family and friends.

Eloise was an animal lover having 3 dogs over her married life. She loved to watch and feed the many wild birds and squirrels in her yard. Leftovers never went to waste as she would put them out for the “creatures” as she called them, including Chippy the squirrel, many deer, a fox, and a persistent raccoon. Her sweet spirit experienced by family members, her church family, neighbors and her many animal friends will be greatly missed.
