Enver Carroll Park, 100, of Columbia, Maryland passed away on Sunday February 21, 2016 at Gilchrest Hospice.
Enver was the son of Roland and Addie Park. He grew up in Laurel, graduating from Laurel High School at the top of his class. He served his country in the United States Army Air Corp. from 1942 until 1945. After dating seven years, he proposed to the love of his life, Eloise Iglehart and they were married in 1955. Enver and Eloise moved to Portland, Maine after they were married, they also moved to Boston, Virginia and New Jersey before settling back in Maryland in 1979 after a 40 year career with AMOCO. They also did a lot of traveling with the Christian Fellowship International. Enver was very active in church, serving as treasurer for Liberty Grove United Methodist Church in Burtonsville. He was also involved in square dancing and sang in the barbershop quartet.
Survivors include his wife of over 60 years Eloise; a brother, Norman Park; four nieces, Louise Ryman, Elsie Lyons, Bessie Park and Eleanor Miles. Also surviving are several additional loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Herman Park and a sister, Evelyn Miles.
Funeral services will be held Saturday February 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Liberty Grove United Methodist Church, 15225 Old Columbia Pike, Burtonsville, MD.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. in the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. 313 Talbott Ave. Laurel, MD.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request donation may be made to the Liberty Grove United Methodist Church, 15225 Old Columbia Pike, Burtonsville, MD.
