Erica Van Dommelen Ginter passed away on December 22, 2022. She was born in Lansing MI on November 5, 1956 to David and Michel Van Dommelen and attended Penn State University, where she obtained a B.A. in Social and Behavioral Sciences with an emphasis in biology and anthropology. She professionally copy-edited articles, guides, and manuscripts for the World Aviation Directory and BioScience Magazine, as well as books and short stories for local science fiction authors and specialty publishers.
An avid science fiction and fantasy fan, Erica regularly attended SF/F conventions in the United States and abroad. She enjoyed travel and travelled regularly each year, including cruising to various parts of the world. In her free-time she enjoyed singing in non-denominational choirs, and amassing a dragon horde's worth of earrings, craft supplies, and Japanese lucky cats.
She leaves behind her husband, Karl, her daughter Lydia, and her brother Dorn Van Dommelen, as well as a host of extended family, friends, and four kitties—including her beloved Siamese, Kimi. Family services and interment will be private.
