Floretta Hunter

Floretta Hunter, age 88 of Laurel, MD passed away peacefully at home on August 21, 2018.

Born in March 1930 to Francis and Clara Jerome in British Guyana, South America, Floretta married Allan Hunter in 1947 and they immigrated to the United States in 1984.  She was a member of Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church.  She enjoyed cooking, sharing meals with her family and family get-togethers. She also enjoyed visits to the casino and picking winning lottery numbers.  She is survived by her children Trevor, Derek, Donna, and Denise; stepchildren Leon, Aubrey, and Rosemary; grandchildren Damien, Heather, Meagan, Ian, Annette, Tracy, Kirk, Kofi, Setutsi, Donna, David, Brian, Margaret, and Ricardo; 23 great grandchildren; one, great great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.  Floretta is also survived by her siblings Avril, Renny, and Yvonne.  She was preceded in death by Allan, her loving husband of 55 years.

The visitation will be held at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707 on Friday, August 31st from 4pm until 7pm with wake prayers at 6:30 pm;. Further visitation will be held at Resurrection of Our Lord 8402 Brock Bridge Rd, Laurel, MD 20724 on Saturday, September 1st from 9:30 am until 10 pm at which time a funeral mass will be held at 10 am. Interment to follow at Ivy Hill Cemetery.
