Fred E. Burnham
October 13, 1924 — January 28, 2016
Died on January 28, 2016 from complications of Alzheimers Disease. Fred leaves his beloved wife Gesine of Laurel, Md. , his children from his first marriage, Barbara Barton of Annapolis, Md. Janice Lafey of Ocean City, Md., David Burnham of Alexandria, Va., and his step-daughter Belinda LaBarbera of Frederick, Md., grandchildren Christine Barton, Lisa Vander, Jennifer Waltemeyer, Dawn Rostkowski, Brittany, Alexandra and Tyler Burnham, step- grandson Lucas LaBarbera and two great-grandchildren.
Fred was a World War II veteran and taught radar ground school while in the Navy. He graduated from Ohio University with a degree in electrical engineering. Fred worked at Litton Amecon in College Park, Md. for 30 years, where he was a senior staff scientist when he retired. After his retirement he joined the US Coast Guard Auxillary and was very active for 26 years.
Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 11:30 am in the chapel at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Pa. 313 Talbott Avenue Laurel, Maryland 20707. Reception to follow at the Red, Hot and Blue Restaurant in Laurel.
