Genine Christina Furguiele, age 68, passed away on June 7, 2026. Born to John and Kathryn Furguiele on August 7, 1957, Genine was the middle of five children.
Genine was the first of her family to graduate college, attending Robert Morris University and obtaining her degree in accounting. She worked as a special agent in the criminal investigation department for the IRS until she retired in 2014. After her retirement, she spent some time as a substitute teacher, where she was affectionately known as “Miss. G”.
She enjoyed various hobbies, including meditation, hiking, cooking, and reading. She was very energetic and exercised often, as seen by her neighbors and friends on the paths of her Russett neighborhood. Genine loved drinking her homemade cinnamon tea every day. She appreciated artists Tina Turner and Pat Benatar, playing them over her speakers as she cleaned the house. Genine was also an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, waving her terrible towel as she watched their games. However, her most cherished activity was caring for her grandson, Mark Brady III, who she adored and loved dearly.
A generous spirit, Genine always gave freely to others, whether it be gifts or food. She was also a caring, supportive friend. She offered her ear, gave sound advice, and provided unconditional love to all those who knew her.
Genine is survived by her only daughter, Michaela Brady (Mark Brady, Jr.); grandson, Mark Brady III; her partner of 21 years, Robert Davis; sisters, Annette Harris (Eric Harris) and Donna Furguiele; brothers, John Furguiele and Roch Furguiele (Donna DiRenna); and 8 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, John and Kathryn Furguiele, and nephew, Roch P. Furguiele.
