"Where flowers bloom and branches bend,

I find the peace on which I depend.

In quiet woods and paws that pace,

With my family and pets is my happy place."

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jeri Witt; Grammy, to the 15 grand and great-grandchildren who loved her. A single-mom of immense optimism that never took no for an answer and always found a way to make something happen or work out, Jeri had many talents and interests. She was a beautiful seamstress and quilt-maker, and accomplished potter with her own kiln. She had a true talent for gardening; often resurrecting the many dying house-plants we brought to her to save. She loved the process of building, creating and renovating homes. Her grandchildren will always remember the family sleepovers with extra large chocolate chip cookies by grandpa Geoff and french toast breakfasts. Of all her interests, she found great joy in fostering dogs and cats and was a long time member of the Laurel Chapter of Lab Rescue, LRCP and was a foster mommy for Laurel Cats, Inc. She was a proud member of both DAR and of Friends of Montpelier Mansion (instrumental in preserving and maintaining this beautiful historical site).

She is survived by her son, Oscar Thomas Rodriguez, Jr. of La Plata, MD and his three daughters, Danielle Rodriguez Budka (Ryan Budka and their son Rhys), Alexanndra Carol Rodriguez (Chris Bae and daughter Johanna), and Samantha Lynn Rodriguez. Her daughter Teresa Lynn Rodriguez-Wright (Robert Wright) of Potomac, MD and their three daughters, Michael Kathryn Wright (Nick Ruggia and their daughter Winter), Megan Wright Kondos (Justin Kondos and their children Benjamin, Lucy and Charles) and Erika Anne Wright (Walt Jenkins). Her Grandsons, Nicholas Charles Rendueles and Mitchell Christopher Rendueles of Friendship, MD.

She is preceded in death by her husband Geoff Ward of Indiana, her daughter Andrea Rendueles, her son Michael Rendueles, her parents Alice and Albert Witt and her four siblings; Robert, Patricia, Jesse and Gary.

After a protracted illness, she passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

Per her wishes, there will be no funeral. Her family is planning a private event honoring her life. In leiu of flowers, donations can be made on her behalf to the Laurel Chapter of Lab Rescue, LRCP.
