Gerard H. Marcotte

Gerard H. (Jack) Marcotte, 71, died Friday, December 27, 2013, with his family by his side at his home in Hyattsville, Maryland.

He was born on June 24, 1942, in Palco, Kansas, to Henry and Olive (Brin) Marcotte.

He graduated from Codell High School in 1961 and from Kansas State University in 1965. He served in the United States Army at Ft. Benning, GA; Ft. Sill, OK; Korea; and Ft. Meade, MD. Following his discharge as a Captain in 1968, he and his family made their home in Maryland. He continued to serve in the US Army Reserve, and over the years, he was a self-employed businessman who worked in the insurance, construction, real estate, investment, and mechanical service industries.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Kuhn) and his son, Scott of Hyattsville, Maryland; his daughter, Jacqueline Keeling and two granddaughters, Laura and Rachael, of Silver Spring, Maryland; a sister Judy Hayden and her husband Leo, of Goodland, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sundra Clark.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 13 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Damar, Kansas. Burial will be after the services at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery in Zurich, Kansas.
