Gerard "Jerry" Robert Bernacchia

Gerard Robert Bernacchia, 67 of  Laurel, Maryland passed away May 5, 2018.

He was born in 1951 to Gino and Vittoria Bernacchia in Washington, D.C.

Jerry was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Laurel, Maryland.

He was retired from USGS and currently a contractor for USGS.

Jerry enjoyed bowling, baseball, basketball, football, basically all sports.  He had an interest in meteorology, cars, and sport stats. He had many friends and family which he loved deeply. He was always the person we could count on to be there for us no matter the problem. He would give wise advise and was always willing to lend an ear. He will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife Beverly Bernacchia, children: Sharon Ray (Daniel) and Michael Bernacchia (Jacqueline Lloyd), Debbie Walters, and Casidy Parker (George Marquez),  grandchildren: Tony, Brittany, James, Alexis, Johnny, Anthony, Raven, Haley, Briana, Michael, Curtis, Sammie, Jessie, Amber (Wade), Matt (Tara), Kyle and Bella, great-grandchildren: Jayden, Michael, Christian, Paisley, and Brantley. Sisters Patty DePaulo (Bob), Jean Weeks (Kenny), Mary Mohn (Mark), nieces and nephews Bobby DePaulo (Kim), Michael DePaulo (Rachel), Kenny Weeks, Becky Sweeney (Chris), Mark, Emily and Tanner Mohn.

He was preceded in death by son Jerry, parents Gino and Vittoria, niece Jennifer DePaulo.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Donaldson Funeral Home, 313 Talbott Ave, Laurel, MD 20707.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, on Thursday May 10, 2018 from 11:00 AM burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Rd, Clinton, MD 20735

Memorial donations may be made to The American Heart Association and American Cancer Society.
