Gilda Winefred Erdle

Brookville, MD - Gilda Winifred Marguerita Testoni Erdle passed from this life July 27, 2019 at Montgomery General Hospital in Olney, MD. She was just 2 weeks shy of her 93rd Birthday.

Friends and relatives may call Saturday, August 3rd at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with visitation in the front entrance at 10:30AM and the mass of Christian Burial starting at 12:00PM followed by internment at Mt. Carmel Patuxent Cemetery in Brookville, MD.

Mrs. Erdle previously lived in Clarksburg and Silver Spring, MD. after immigrating from Suffolk County, England in 1950. She was born to Pietro Amanzio Testoni and Clarice Maude Andrews Testoni. She wed Francis Edward Erdle July, 1951 in Aldeburgh, Suffolk, England.

Mrs. Erdle retired from a life long nursing career which started in England during World War II and finished 60 years later in and around Olney, MD.

She loved to help care for the horses on her farm, ballet dancing in younger years, singing in her church Chancel choir, gardening and traveling the world when possible.

She is survived by her Brother Michael Testoni of Aldeburgh Suffolk,England and children Christopher, Jonathan Anne-Marie, Darien, Nicholas, Andrew and Sara, 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 5 adopted grandchildren,and many cousins, nephews and nieces across the United States, England,Italy and Australia.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, her parents and her sister Veronica.
