Ginger Ann Fitzpatrick

Ginger Ann Fitzpatrick passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Gilchrist Hospice, Columbia, MD, after a long and courageous battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She was with us for 18 months; no doubt due to her indomitable spirit!
Born and raised in Waynesboro, PA she relocated to Maryland in the early 1970's. She married her beloved husband Robert in 1975 becoming a "Navy wife," traveling with him throughout his military career. They eventually settled in the Columbia/Laurel area. Ginger began a long career in real estate property management working part time while raising her two children. This became a full time exceptional career.
She was a remarkably generous woman. Some years ago she started "Crazy Christmas" raising money and goods for various shelters and programs throughout the MD and PA area. She loved the Redskins, traveling, and gambling, and especially enjoyed her trips to Las Vegas.
Everyone will miss her sense of humor, her generous spirit and friendship. She touched many lives; and we are all better for knowing her.
Ginger is preceded in death by her husband Robert in 2011 after 36 years of marriage, as well as her parents Ray and Joyce Waltz. She is survived by her daughter Kelly Ann Owens (nee: Fitzpatrick)and her husband Geoff, son Brian Fitzpatrick, granddaughter Bailey Ann Fitzpatrick, siblings Robin "Rob" Waltz, Sr., Kimberly R. Urich, Ray T. "Rusty" Waltz, Jr., Lori L. Frantz, and Michelle A. Waltz. She is also survived by her very dear and close friend Joyce Ann Dunlap.
