Gloria Ecker

Gloria Ecker, a lifelong Laurel area resident, passed away at her home on November 22, 2012. She was born in Montevue, MD to Victor and Luella Thompson on February 19, 1936. Before retiring, Mrs. Ecker worked at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab for 40 years and for the last 9 years she worked for Kohl's department store. Mrs. Ecker is survived by her children Rebecca A. Bowen, JoAnn Riley and James Merson; her sisters Betty Plunkard and Evelyn Curtian and her brother Robert Thompson. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-greatgrandchild. A visitation will be held at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, on Monday, November 26 from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home's chapel on Tuesday at 1:30 pm. Interment will be in Ivy Hill Cemetery.
