Gloria Lea Guss

Gloria Lea Guss of Laurel, MD passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 18 after courageously living with ALS.

She was the beloved wife of Steven M. Guss; mother to John (Cathy) Kehl and Kathy Kehl; stepmother to Kasey (Jessica) Guss and Laurie Fetterman; and grandmother to Amanda Kehl, Shannon Steelman, Alexis and Lucas Fetterman and Paul and Joseph Guss.  She is also survived by her siblings Thomas Groves, Edward (Anne) Groves, Teresa (James) Gross, Anne (Barry) Mydlowski, Helen (Merrill) Weinrich, James (Cheri) Groves and Jane Groves; and numerous other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nadine and John Groves; sisters Mary Murphy and Carol Groves; and a grandson, John R. Kehl, Jr.

Gloria loved to spend time with family and friends, and her granddog Scruffy.  She enjoyed traveling in recent years, visiting Michigan, California and Las Vegas.  She loved to go for long walks, especially on trails, and other forms of exercise. She liked to collect various knickknacks, read crime novels and watch the ID channel, play bingo and go to the casino.  She worked for Bray and Scarff in their accounting department for 39 years.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 22, 2018 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home P.A. 313 Talbott Ave. Laurel MD 20707.

Additional visitation will also be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018  from 10-10:45 AM at Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church, 8402 Brock Bridge Road, Laurel MD 20704. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM following the visitation at the church.

Burial will be private.
