Goldie Diggs James was born as a twin in Suffolk, Virginia on October 12, 1938, to the late Lottie Diggs and late Garland Diggs. She worked for New York Founding Hospital in New York City in the housekeeping division, until she became disabled in 1979.
Goldie moved to Laurel, Maryland 2006 to live close to her only surviving child, Anthony. It was here that she gained so many new friends at the Laurel Lakes Senior Center. Goldie loved spending time with her family and friends and always kept in contact with those who were far away by telephone.
Goldie moved to Georgia in February 2013. She still kept a close communication with her family and friends in New York and Maryland.
Goldie is survived by her son Anthony Diggs; stepson Kelvin Stephens; two daughters-in-law Gail Diggs and Faith Stephens; five grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Goldie was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce Ann Diggs; her son, Byron Diggs; her mother and father and all of her siblings.
