Gregory Lee Bergren

Gregory Lee Bergren, 67, passed away on January 5, 2014 at Howard County General Hospital in Columbia. He was born on September 11, 1946 to the late Gerald and Alberta Bergren in Ann Arbor, Michigan and was raised in Bay City, Michigan. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1966 where he operated Nuclear Powered Submarines and was honorably discharged after 6 years of service. He received his bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and his Master's degree from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore after moving to Laurel in 1975. He worked for NSA and was currently working as an engineer for Tresys Technology. He enjoyed music, reading, golf, hockey, and football. He was an active member at Laurel Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years Andrea Bergren; loving daughter Anna Miller and her husband Sean; sister Nancy Southerland and her husband Ted; brother Joel Bergren and his wife Susan; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
