Obituary of
Hani R. Said
“Bruno”
Hani Raki Said, 67 years old, passed away in Takoma Park, Maryland on March 14, 2026.
Born July 29, 1958 in Jerusalem, Palestine, son of the late Raki Said and Mariam Khoury Said. Survived by an abundance of cousins whom he loved deeply. After graduating high school, Hani continued studies in HVAC. He worked in various places leading up to his favorite job, a food truck owner. It was no secret that he was an avid food critic. He loved trying foods from all different ethnicities and different places all around the DMV. Hani grew up in the Old Town Takoma Park area, and one of his favorite things to do was get on his scooter or wheelchair and ride around talking to all the neighbors and friends he’s made along the way. There isn’t a person in the area that didn’t know “Bruno”. He loved reminiscing and talking about the old days. Our Bruno, has been a part of our lives since we were born, and we have so many memories of growing up with him as our big “cuz”. Nothing made him smile more than seeing all of our children who will also remember Umo(uncle) Hani with fondness. He had many obstacles that he had to face and sometimes I can see that he was getting tired, but he was a fighter and still tried to do all he could until the end. He put up a good fight no matter how hard it was. It is with a heavy heart that I write this, but I know that he is no longer suffering, and he is back to walking, feeling no pain and happy with his parents and our loved ones. We love you Bru and will always cherish the memories and laughs you gave us. I will miss you cuz.
Love, Nunu
