Harry R. Coon Sr., 69 passed away on Wednesday June 20, 2012 at Holy Cross Hospital. He was born on December 12, 1942 to the late Mildred & William Coon Sr. Harry was a resident of Laurel for over 62 years before retiring to Barefoot Bay Florida.
Harry was a longtime employee of East Coast Ice Cream before retiring from the Howard County Board of Education. He loved hunting, fishing, watching Jeopardy and spending time with his family. His time served in the Army also helped form his love of history & battlefields.
Harry is survived by his son Harry Coon Jr. and wife Charlene of Odenton, MD; daughter Kathy Lynn Venezio and husband Joe of Linden, NJ; siblings William Coon Jr., Kelly Coon and Kathy Cheak of Laurel; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Harry was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Lou Coon & sister Bonnie Yestingmier.
Services will be held Sunday June 24th, 2012 from 6-9 pm (service to begin at 7:30) at Donaldson Funeral Home: 313 Talbot Avenue, Laurel MD 20707. Memorial Donations should be made out to the Riverside Family Church 11205 Roseland Rd. Sebastian, FL 32958
