Hilda E. Fyffe, a lifelong resident of Laurel, passed away at Potomac Valley Nursing Center in Rockville. She was 105. She was born on September 23, 1909 to the late Walter and Minnie Mae Fyffe in Poolesville, MD. She retired from finance and accounting for the U.S. Army at the Pentagon and then went to work for the University of Maryland College Park for 10 years when they were installing the first computers. Hilda was a member of the Laurel Senior Friendship Club where she was the oldest member, American Legion Post #60, and St. Philips Episcopal Church. She enjoyed traveling, current events, trivia, and spending time with family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by her niece Sharon Fyffe and nephew John Fyffe. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 from 11- 12 noon at DONALDSON FUNERAL HOME, P.A. Chapel where funeral services began at 12 noon. Burial followed at Monocacy Cemetery in Beallsville, MD.
