HONORA FIRMADGE THOMPSON (Age 94)
Passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016. A native Washingtonian, daughter of the late Forrest H. and Martha Burton Thompson, graduate of old Central High School and Bryn Mawr College. Ms. Thompson also attended the College of William and Mary. She retired from the National Science Foundation in 1977. Great-granddaughter of Thomas Marshall, last owner of Marshall Hall, a plantation handed down from father to son for seven successive generations, now protected by the Mount Vernon Viewshed. Long time member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Washington Club. Also a member of the Woman’s Club of Bethesda and the Salvation Army Auxiliary. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at 2:00 pm at the Chapel at Ingleside at Rock Creek, 3050 Military Road, NW, Washington, DC 20015.
