Ida Elizabeth Hines

Ida Elizabeth Hines, passed away on Wednesday June 29, 2016 in Columbia, Maryland.

Born December 27, 1921 in Waynesville, North Carolina, she was the daughter of John and Ethel (Rogers) Fyock. She grew up in Glenelg, Maryland where she met John Thomas Hines. They were married on May 2, 1942 and were married 58 years when he passed on January 28, 2001.

Ida’s greatest joy was raising her family and working on the family farm. She was very involved in Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Scaggsville. She also enjoyed doing crafts, gardening, bowling and attending all family events.

She is survived by three daughters; Donna Hurford and her husband Frank, Wanda Allis and Monica Haltmeyer; five grandchildren, Nanette, Erica, Brian, Michele and Nicholas; three great grandchildren, Tyler, Makayla and Rylee; a sister-in-law, Katherine Fyock. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and a sister-in-law.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 6, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 10755 Scaggsville Road, Laurel, MD. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday July 5, 2016 in the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. 313 Talbott Ave. Laurel, Maryland.
