Isabel Colon

Isabel "CHAVE" Colon, age 81, transitioned peacefully surrounded by her two daughters, Bobbie and Joyce, her sister Sully, and her nephew Luis on 17 July 2023.

Born in Cayey, Puerto Rico in 1942, to Justo and Isidora, Chave lived an adventurous life. The first adventure began when, at the ripe old age of 19, she decided to go to New York - alone and unafraid! She turned into a superhero when she raised three children as a single mom, working-full time and going to school. At 55 years of age, she landed her dream job as a language analyst with the Department of Defense and got to travel the world.  She held the family together when her granddaughter, Elysse, passed away in 2018. Her final days were happy, having spent time with her brothers, sisters-in-law, nephews, and nieces.  She transitioned on Elysse's birthday and together they are watching the Yankees and shining down on us.

Viewing and a prayer service will be held on Sunday, 23 July from 2 - 4pm (viewing) and 4 - 5pm (prayer service) at Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. located at: 313 Talbott Ave. Laurel, MD 20707
