Jack Obadiah Mazyck, Jr. was born on September 11, 1963 in Conway, South Carolina to Jack Obadiah Mazyck, Sr. and the late Mary Knox Mazyck. He was a graduate of Conway High School. He was a very talented Handy Man and his services were used by many. Even under extraordinary circumstances, he was able to smile and bring joy to many, and because of his demeanor, he was affectionately known as “Happy Jack”. He was also a nature lover. He was kind and considerate and exemplified the meaning of giving you the shirt off his back. He was also an avid reader and spent surmountable amount of time at the library, but his favorite book was The Bible. He will be dearly missed.

He was predeceased by his Mother, Mary Knox Mazyck, his maternal Grandfather Richard Knox Sr., and Grandmother Lillie Cogdell Knox and Paternal Grandmother Rebecca McCoy Mazyck and Grandfather Abraham Mazyck, Sr., His Step-Grandmother Rachel Johnson Brown Mazyck (Mother), his Mother’s Brothers and their wives, Richard Knox Sr. (Sarah) and Paul Knox, Sr. (Edna), his Father’s brothers and sisters, Mattie Brown Alston (Robert), his Aunt Isadore Mazyck Singleton (John), Johnny Mazyck, Lula Mazyck Washington, his sister, Jacqua Lena Mazyck Farewell (Evelyn), and cousins Sarah Knox Russell (Theodore) and Mary Knox Windley (Andrew) and one nephew Marcus Antonio Farewell.

The memorial service will be Monday, January 16, at 2:00 pm at the Donaldson Funeral Home Chapel, 313 Talbott Ave, Laurel, MD 20707.  The service will be livestreamed HERE.
