James Vincent Boyd was born Oct. 2, 1956 in Cleveland Ohio. At a young age his mother brought him to Maryland where he spent the rest of his life. He started his first business when just a young boy of 9 years. His mother gave him a pony. He charged friends and neighbors 25 cents for a pony ride. This little enterprise was good practice for when he would eventually become a Master Electrician and start his own successful business, Custom Electric Systems, Inc.
He loved traveling, water sports, helping stranded drivers during snow storms, long drives along the beach with family and friends. He was always available to lend a helping hand to friends, family members, or strangers.
Jim was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Parkinson’s disease at the age of 48. He never let that stop him from enjoying good times with family and friends. Eventually the disease took his life at the age of 66 on December 29, 2022. He died at home with his wife of 41 years, Brenda (Sabo) Boyd and his son Jason Boyd in attendance.
He also leaves behind his daughter Caitlin (Adrian) Mejia, and granddaughter Elizabeth Abarca.
Preceding him in death are his mother, Margaret Katherine (Flory) Pourhassani, stepfather Abraham Pourhassani, and his maternal grandmother Ruth Adell (Shaull) Flory who cared for him most of his childhood.
The family would like to especially thank friends John Welsh and Ralph Craig for being available at a moment's notice to help care for Jim and lend support after his untimely death.
Memorial contributions in Jim's name can be made to Amazingfacts.org .
