James G. Holmes

James George Holmes, Jr., 75 of Laurel, MD went to be with our Lord Sunday May 20, 2012 at Laurel Regional Hospital following a brief stay there. He was preceded in death by his parents James George Holmes Sr., and Fannie M. Holmes. Surviving is his wife of 53 years Harriet I. Holmes and his sons Jeffrey Alan and Bradley Frederick, as well as Bradley's wife Christine and their children and grandchildren. Surviving siblings are Gerald F. Holmes of Chicago, IL and Carol Permoda of Mesa, AZ. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He retired December 20, 1991 from the Department of Defense, National Security Agency after 36 years of loyal and faithful service. He was active in the church and several other community groups.

Viewing will be Wednesday May 23rd, 2012 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. Funeral Services will be Thursday May 24, 2012 at 11 AM at First United Methodist Church. Interment will be at Ivy Hill Cemetery. Flowers can be sent or donations made to First United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
