James E. "Jimmy" Rutherford

James Earl “Jimmy” Rutherford, of Laurel, MD passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Gilchrist Hospice Center of Howard County in Columbia, MD. He had been ill for a very long period of time.
He worked for BFI for 30 years. He retired in 2013. He was a resident of Laurel for more than 30 years. He had many friends in the area that loved him.
Jimmy is survived by his mother, Madeline Rutherford of Laurel, MD, a brother Donald Rutherford (and his wife Theresa) also of Laurel, MD and two sisters; Diane Smeith (and her husband Dale) of West Virginia and Helen Smith of Severn, MD. Jimmy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was prededed in death by his father William L. Rutherford and a brother William (Mike) Rutherford, Jr.
