James Jay Semmel, 70, of Clarksville, MD since 1978 died suddenly on March 7, 2012 at his residence. He was born on April 29, 1941 to the late Ruby H. Herrington in New York. He attended Hemlock High School in New York. He served in the U.S. Army for 4 years. He worked for A.E. Davies Distributor for about 20 years and later Owned and Operated P.W.'s Place for 15 years and retired 2006. He was an avid bowler and golfer and was a member of the Laurel Elks and American Legion Post 60.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Joanne Semmel; sons Brian and his wife Linda Semmel , Michael and his wife Melissa Semmel and the late Christopher Semmel. He is also survived by his grandchildren Nicholas, Caitlyn, Parker, Morghan, and Payton.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, 2-4 & 7-9 pm at DONALDSON FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 12, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Louis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Louis Catholic Church.
