The PMP Research Foundation sponsors the Heat-It-to-Beat-It relay which was founded in 2010. Janene and her family and friends participated in the relay in 2010 and 2011 and plan to continue the tradition for many years to come. Proceeds from the relay benefit the groundbreaking research being led by Arnando Sardi, MC, Director of the Institute for Cancer Care at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore. Dr. Sardi and his colleague, Vadim Guschin, MD, who conducted Janene's surgery, are among the few surgical oncologists in the world who specialize in the HIPEC surgery, a complex procedure involving heated chemotherapy. Relay supports the study of the cancer and treatment, including the HIPEC surgery that Janene underwent in Aug 2010
